This is our annual appeal to ensure that Connemara’s capital Clifden is nice and lit up for the festive season!
We hope you will contribute a little (or a lot!) to light up Clifden in 2024. Every year without fail and with incredible local generosity, the Connemara Chamber gets the lights up in Clifden.
In 2023 we raised €8,500 raised with 61 individual donations – Go Raibh Milé Maith Agat. All income and costs will be published to our website.
Come enjoy Clifden & Connemara this festive season with two specials weekends of Festival Fun!

Grant Acknowledgement
We also wish to acknowledge Galway County Council for the once-off Christmas Lighting Grant of €4650 which has been applied for and by Connemara Chamber for Christmas Lights. https://www.localgov.ie/grants-and-funding/christmas-lighting-grant Note: Any excess money raised from the 2024 Christmas lights will be kept for future Christmas Light needs.
