Connemara Pony Sales

Connemara Pony Sales are Ireland’s largest and leading sale of Connemara Ponies and Horses.

Based in Clifden, the heart of Connemara which hosts seven sales held annually in February, April, May, August, October and December (over 16 sales days) bringing together horse & pony buyers and sellers from around the globe.

On any given day there will likely be in excess of 200 ponies catalogued offering our customers a huge selection to choose from which isn’t available elsewhere. These can range from foals to mares, unbroken to hunters, no matter what you would like to purchase it will be available at our sale.

Connemara ponies from our sale have gone on to do great things, competing at Hoys such as Lough Derg Star, representing Ireland at the European eventing Championships such as Fanta Cross, winning the Blue Chip Feed Newcomers Championship like Derryinver Rocky, a medalist at the European Pony Championships like Kildromin Banjo, the holy grail a supreme champion at the Clifden Pony Show like Miss Daisy or competing at the world renowned Royal Dublin Horse Show.

Our sale has grown exponentially over the years from our humble beginning in August 1990 when we hosted our first Connemara Pony Sale. Since then we grew to seven sales held annually from four sales in 2020. This demand is undoubtedly due to the popularity of the breed and the great work breeders do in presenting their pony and owners for ensuring they’re ponies are broken
